This page will be a work in progress - I'll continue to update it as things change.
September 2009: Jared and I decide to start trying to have a baby.
August 2010: I end up in tears in my ob/gyn's office. She assures me that I will be pregnant soon, but orders a Day 3 blood test anyway.
early September 2010: Ob/gyn calls to give me the results of my Day 3 bloodwork. I have High FSH (11.2) and Low AMH (0.1). Refers me to Dr. K, a Reproductive Endocrinologist.
end of September 2010: Dr. K orders a full work up of bloodwork and labs, including another FSH test, a vaginal ultrasound to investigate developing follicles, and an HSG, plus a semen analysis for Jared.
early October 2010: The HSG sucked.
end of October 2010: We got our test results. Dr. K recommends IVF with ICSI. We told him that we wouldn't make any decisions before the first of the year.
January 2011: We still don't make any decisions. Just keep trying.
2011 in general: Lots of babies on Facebook. Not helping.
September 2011: We decide that we want to move forward with IVF, and that we are willing to take my parents up on their offer to help financially.
November 2011: We have a very important conversation with my parents.
December 5, 2011: We meet with Dr. K, tell him that we want to move forward with IVF. He re-orders blood work, a saline ultrasound, and a trial transfer.
December 13, 2011: The sonohystogram (saline ultrasound) and trial transfer are not nearly as bad as the HSG!
December 22, 2011: IVF Orientation. We found out that both of our levels actually improved!
December 30, 2011: Payment for our IVF cycle delivered in full. Yikes.
